Providence Mini Geriatric Fellowship - 2023

1 week in April, May, September, and October, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.: April 17-21; May 22-26; September 18-22; October 23-27. The program will elevate participants' competencies in improving their care of older adults and better managing complex geriatric syndromes. Core subject matter is organized using the "4M" framework (mobility (fall risk prevention and management), mentation (delirium, dementia and depression), medication (polypharmacy and deprescribing) and what matters (goals of care conversations and understanding the quality-of-life factors for your senior patients)), which is considered the bedrock of "age-friendly" practice by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Providence also endorses a 5th "M" of malnutrition (physical and socio-economic factors). Team members, such as pharmacist, nurses, and physical therapists are invited to participate on select days.
